Painting Event - August 1 - August 14, 2010
Artists from across the USA come to paint pictures of Cheyenne and Wyoming, culminating in a Gala Opening on 14th August 2010. Also a Quick Draw and Auction of the Quick Draw Paintings on the final Saturday. Entrants and sponsors will be advised as we have more details. Plein Air judge John Encinias.

Carole Gray-Weihman
Learn how the effective use of colors in a beautiful combination can transmit the moods of a still-life or landscape. Carole will guide you in an honest approach of seeing and understanding color relationships and the many light keys of nature. Color, values, drawing and composition with an emphasis on seeing the big shapes and their relationships will be taught through a series of exercises and one-on-one instruction. Beginning with an overview of the structure of the human head and figure the students will go through quick exercises designed to help them rapidly lay in the big shapes of light and shadow while maintaining the form. Through demonstrations and painting exercises the student will be guided in proportion, composition, the effect of light, value, color, planes of form, edge control and more.
